Another Rebound Ace sports surface at the new Palmerston Tennis and Netball Facility. Another Rebound Ace Impact floor installed at Tennant Creek High School. This is the second Impact surface now in Tennant Creek. The other is installed in the new Primary School hall extensions. Tennant Creek being in a far distant location does not mean they can’t have the same quality flooring systems as their city dwellers.

Gunbalanya, approximately 400km north east of Darwin. Since the installation of this multipurpose soccer pitch, school attendance has actually increased. This community gets completely cut off by road in the wet season and during the dry season a tidal river crossing full of salt water crocodiles provides an entertaining drive to the site …along with some really good barramundi fishing!!

Sanderson School opted for a Rebound Impact, but due to the convex slab, this was not possible. So, NT Sports & Playground Surfacing solved the problem using a combination between 8mm Grandslam and Impact top layer.

Another remote site, about 300km north east of Alice Springs, one looks at the map and thinks that it looks like a great road, the truth is that alot of these roads are in need of some TLC. On this trip we lost as few things, well namely, the roof cage.
One can keep checking to make sure that everything on the 4WD’s is secure but it only takes a couple of seconds, one bolt to come slightly loose and wham, there goes the cage with spares tyres. Out there it’s all about bush mechanics, cant just stop around at repco or the local hardware shop to grab what you need. It’s all about being prepared and using abit of ingenuity. Onwards we went, job done.

Our most recent remote school job, this is what being an Australian is all about, being out in the buish and being self reliant. Most people pay to do trips like this, we get the joy of doing it for work. The condition can be extreme out in the centre of Australia, no shops, no hotels, no support and no Home and Away. These projects don’t just happen overnight, one must be prepared for every event.

Logistic in remote centres is the most important part of these jobs. Crusher dust comes in on road triains, 4WD are a must. One can never not assume that it’s not going to rain, roads in these areas are quickly made impassable. One could be stuck for a couple of days for the rain the stop. Extra food and water must be carried in this event. It’s not only hard on your equipement but on the staff as well. Condition up around the 40 degress and plus are not uncommon.
